People find the joyful interaction of colour and light in my glass sculptures ‘magical’. I explore the dynamics of flow and how light mingles with colour to create what looks like a moving image inside a blade of solid, crystal clear glass.
No beginning, no end, no front, no back, each piece is inspired by the natural world around us: the way it’s constantly in flux and change; and its extraordinary beauty continues to delight and surprise us.
Fusing science with art, I am playing with the way in which light refracts through a form to create shifting compositions or shifting hues of colour. The ‘brushstrokes’ are made from glass, then hand shaped around a blown glass core.
